ISVR & Solent University

This IPS event will take you to 2 venues.

The Institute of Sound and Vibration Research within the University of Southampton, and the 2nd location is a fantastic Dolby Atmos theatre at Southampton Solent University.

The ISVR has anechoic and reverberation chambers, and accoustic enviroment measurement areas. They undertake research into cochleal implants, active applications of the reduction of ambient noise in the automibile, aeronautical and building industries and spacial audio reproduction.

Southampton Solent University has a very high spec brand new Dolby Atmos theatre and we have arranged an intro and demonstration from the theatre owners.

The IPS has chartered a coach to travel from west London to Southampton and the first venue, provide transport between venues and your lunch location (a nice local pub, pay for your own food and drink), then back to your start point in west London. Parking at the Southampton venues is very limited** and so let the IPS 'take the strain' for the day!

Departure from west London is at 08:00 to arrive in Southampton at 10:00 for a 'wash and brush-up' before the start of the visit. Lunch is at approx 13:00 until 14:15. Travel to the second venue then return to west London for about 20:00.

The cost is £20 per head, not including your lunch. A bargain, and probably far cheaper than the train or your own fuel costs.

** Should you wish to travel independently, the option is available, but please be aware, we have now confirmed that there is no on-campus parking other than for the IPS coach. You will need to make your own arrangements if you are driving. The emailed ticket you receive will have details of the venue locations and approximate timings for the schedule.

The organisers (the Institute of Professional Sound and or IPS Trading Limited) may find, for many reasons, that it is necessary to change or amend the intended schedule and or facilities or even, without liability, cancel the event. Any known changes or amendments will be published on this site, and where or when possible registered attendees will be notified by email.
